A stone tablet records: St John's - this church - dedicated to the Glory of God - was erected - by the widow and friends - in memory of - John Martin Bladen Neill - Colonel - and Deputy Adjutant General - of H M Forces - in the Australian Colonies - who died at Melbourne - July 19th 1859 - Aged 45 years.

A plaque below the above tablet records: This plaque was resurrected from the original - timber church built on this site in 1863. - The present brick church was commenced in 1880 - and completed in 1911 - The Soldiers Memorial Chapel was dedicated - in 1960.

A renewed memorial plaque on a cairn records: A M D G - Hubert Leopold Middleton Charles - Vivian Tarrington Byng - Born 3.6.1869 - Died 30.10.1869 - infant son of - The Rev'd Charles James Byng - and Mary Byng nee Middleton.

A plaque on the gate pillar records: A M D G - In memorium - John Chivell - a faithful Churchman - and Townsman - 1863 ~ 1938.

A foundation stone on St John's Parish Hall across the avenue from the church records: A M D G - This stone was blessed by - + Reginald...( unable to read the remainder as it is obscured by a metal building support bar). '1929' recorded in the masonry on the front of the building.

The St John's Anglican Church, Corowa is part of the Parish of Corowa and the Diocese of Riverina. The present church building was opened in November 1883, and replaced an earlier structure opened about 1863. The land for the church building was donated by Mr John Foord.
