(The Kiama Independent - 26 March 1878)   "New Wesleyan Church, Jamberoo. The laying of four memorial corner stones of the above church took place on Wednesday last, followed by a tea-meeting, and several addresses suited to the occasion. 'The day was fine, though rather hot, and a widespread interest being taken in the affair resulted in the attendance of a large concourse of visitors, numbering we should say little if any short of six hundred. Nor was it simply gathering of Wesleyans, as all the other sects were fairly represented. The proceedings commenced by singing and prayer, the Rev. W. Moore giving out the hymn, and the Rev. J. Wilson (Presbyterian) engaging in prayer. The Secretary of the Building Committee, Mr. J. Graham, then called on Miss Bessie Black to lay the North-east corner-stone, which she did, and in the name of the Trinity pronounced it well and truly laid. The South-east stone was in the same manner laid by Mr. John Vidler, Senior. A similar service was performed by Mrs. John Black in regard to the South-west corner-stone; and that at the North-west was laid by Rev. W. Moore. In the cavity of the latter was placed a sealed bottle, containing the minutes of the New South Wales and Queensland Conference for 1878, the latest Kiama circuit preachers' plan, copies of the two local papers, an almanac, and a written document, a copy of which was read by Mr. Moore".

(The Kiama Independent - 1 April 1879)   "Opening of the New Wesleyan Church, Jamberoo. PURSUANT to previous announcement the opening of the abovenamed church took place on Friday last, 28th lultimo. The day was exceedingly fine; a great interest was taken in the proceeding not only by the members of the Wesleyan Church throughout this and neighbouring circuits but by numbers belonging to other sections of the Protestant Church. A large marquee had been erected, capable of seating about two hundred at tea, which was an admirable arrangement, as the party was then protected from the rays of the sun. Not until the third sitting were all accommodated , and there must have been over six hundred persons present".

A small cemetery adjoins the church. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 8/4/2018. & 13/5/2021.
