A plaque commemorating the opening records: Prayer of Dedication - Beloved in the Lord, we rejoice that God has put in the hearts of the people in this district the idea of building this church to the glory of his name. It is accepted that this building will be called Fernvale-Lowood Uniting Church and we now dedicate it and so set it apart for the worship of God and the service of the people of this district. May it become for those gathered here a place in which they meet you the Living Lord. May the fragrance of your Holy Spirit be evident within the hearts of those who meet and may this place be made sacred by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Send your blessing upon this space and these people gathered here and may you continue to make yourself known here through the Word proclaimed, the prayers of the people offered, the songs of the faith expressed and the loving acts of service generously and compassionately offered. - In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spitit... We dedicate this church. Amen - Builder: Ken & Janise Phipps - Moderator : Rev Kaye Ronalds - Presbytery Minister: Rev David Baker - Minister: Rev Brian Kickbusch - Date of Dedication: 26th October 2013.

The first Methodist church built in the Brisbane Valley was at Fernvale, in 1872. It was built close to the river and prone to flooding. Subsequently it was relocated to higher land at the corner of Clive Street and the Brisbane Valley Highway. A larger church was built on the this site in 1894. It is now the second oldest building in the district.

When the Fernvale Uniting Church were planning a new church building for its current site, rather than sell or demolsih the old building it was given to the local community. It was relocated across Clive Street and is being restored as an emergecncy response centre.

The new Fernvale-Lowood Uniting Church builing was opened on 26/10/2013. More historical information/photographs of the former and current churches/congregations is invited. Photographs uploaded 18/3/2017.
