The former Toowoomba Congregational Church, Hume Street, was opened free of debt soon after the sale of the fine Congregational Church building in Margaret Street, to the Trades and Labour Council in December 1919. (See separate entry - Toowoomba Church of Christ - Former).

The church building was opened and dedicated on 19/6/1920, by the Rev F North, Ex-President of the Congregational Union of Queensland. The pastor was the Rev F E Adams. Mr F H Chamberlin was the contractor and the plans were drawn and supplied by Mr F G Chamberlin. In 1976 the building was moved to the site of the Middle Ridge Methodist Church. At that time the Toowoomba Congregational and Middle Ridge Methodist Churches joined together to form the Union Church, Middle Ridge. In June 1977, after the formation of the Uniting Church in Australia, it became the Middle Ridge Uniting Church, 264 Stenner Street, Middle Ridge, Toowoomba.(See separate entry)

More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 12/3/2020.
