St Barbara's Catholic Church - Former

The former St Barbara's Catholic Church, Rossarden property is now privately owned. The building was originally the Church of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Avoca. It had closed in the late 1950s when a new building was erected named St Theresa's Catholic Church. Subsequently the Avoca church building was acquired in the early 1960s by the Catholics in Rossarden. It became the St Barbara's Catholic Church, Rossarden, named after the patron saint of miners, and blessed by Archbishop Guildford Young. It closed in the late 1970s and was subsequently sold.
