The earliest Catholic gathering in the Coomera River District was recorded in April 1866. The St Mary's Catholic Church building was erected in 1890 at Upper Coomera. It was then extended and transferred to Oxenford in 1935, and moved to its current site in Upper Coomera in 2005. No other details are known about the church.
