The gold miners first built a Union Church for all denominations about 1870. This was followed by the individual denominations erecting their own church buildings. The first Anglican Church building was erected in 1871, described at the time as the 'shabbiest place of worship ever built'. The foundation stone for a new building was laid on 9/11/1874 by Mrs Mary Helena Rouse, with the ceremony attended by the Bishop of Bathurst, Most Rev Samuel Marsden. It was opened on All Soul's day 2/11/1876 and consecrated on St Andrew's day 30/11/1899 by the 2nd Bishop of Bathurst, Rev Charles Edward Camidge DD. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 29/4/2021.
